Cocoon - Aeris

Cocoon Fires

The Cocoon Aeris is a stunning addition to any living space. It combines minimalism with heating efficiency and simple installation.

Cocoon fireplaces use a fuel called Denatured Ethanol (methylated spirits) making them clean and environmentally friendly. As the fuel burns, the main shell of the fireplace heats and radiates warmth throughout the room. The combustion chamber holds 1.5 litres of fuel and burns for up to 6 hours, depending on the heat setting, which are adjustable for comfort.

This piece will make a great addition to any space, with its attractive and minimal design. COCOON FIRES offers a simple and practical solution for efficient heating.

All models are easy to install and come fully assembled and ready to use.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What type of fuel is used?
The fuel used in the fireplace is denatured ethanol, also known as ethyl alcohol, denatured alcohol or grain alcohol. It is a biofuel which can be derived from plants including corn, wheat, barley and sugarcane. Most commonly known in Australia as Methylated Spirits and widely available in hardware stores.

Denatured Ethanol is a renewable resource. When it’s burning there are no harmful emissions, so it’s very safe and environmentally friendly.

How do the COCOON FIRES models work?
Ethanol is poured into the combustion chamber and then placed inside of the fireplace. A starter is used to turn on the fireplace. You can then regulate or turn off the burner by a sliding mechanism.

Initially the flame will have a blue color and will gradually change to a orange/yellow flame - similar to a wood fire flame.

How long does the fireplace burn for?
The duration of the flame depends on the climate conditions, and the height of the flame. This duration is reduced in an area with more of an air current. 1.5 litres can last for up to 6 hours.

How much CO2 is produced by the fireplace?
The CO2 produced by the fireplace can be compared to that of a candle.

Do they provide heat?
Yes the Cocoon Fires designs deliver a beautiful ambient heat. The units produce approximately 3.6 kw, which is the equivalent to a small to medium gas or electric heater.

How to install?
The COCOON FIRES models are very easy to install. They come complete and ready for installation.

Do the COCOON FIRES models require a flue?
No.

However, if used in a small room - it's best to keep a window slightly ajar. Do not use the Cocoon fireplace in a bathroom, a room where sleeping accommodation is provided or in any other small room.
